Rest Easy through Your Next Dental Treatment
Sedation Dentistry
——

Dr. Jason White believes in making each and every patient feel welcome, comfortable, and excited to receive the very best in cosmetic and restorative dental care. He and his friendly staff know it is not uncommon for patients of all ages to experience some anxiety at the thought of undergoing dental treatment. If you believe you or your child will have difficulties remaining calm and comfortable during treatment, we offer oral conscious minimal sedation dentistry at our LubbockWest Texas office. This supplemental treatment will help you achieve a state of near-sleep and deep relaxation by taking a prescribed drug in pill form. You will still be able to respond to commands, but once the minimal sedation wears off, you will not remember your treatment. If you are interested in learning how minimal sedation dentistry can help you during your next dental treatment, contact our Lubbock office today.

The Benefits Of Oral Conscious Sedation
——

The health of your teeth and gums is profoundly important to your overall health. Your mouth is the gateway to the rest of your body, and a number of serious health complications, including diabetes and cardiovascular disease, begin when oral health is neglected. That is why it is extremely important not to let anxiety stand in the way of receiving the treatment you need. With oral conscious minimal sedation you can relax, knowing that you will be only minimally aware of treatment, and you will likely have no memory of your dentist visit when treatment is complete. This will also help Dr. White give you the best possible treatment, because a calm patient is much easier to treat than an anxious patient.

Preparing For Oral Conscious Sedation
——

The most important part of preparing for oral conscious minimal sedation is making sure a friend, relative, or spouse can help you get safely to and from your dental appointment. You will be given a pill to take prior to your appointment, which means you should not drive yourself to your appointment under any circumstances. The rate at which the sedative takes effect is different for everyone, so it is possible that you may need assistance exiting your car and entering our office. You will likely still be sedated following treatment, so whoever accompanies you to the office should budget time to relax in our waiting room so they may assist you out of the office, into a vehicle, and back into your home. It is recommended that you prepare your bed or couch at home so that you can rest while the effects of the medication subside.
